Specification of

Insulation is the use of materials with low conductivity values ​​to reduce the flow of energy across the material. To reduce the energy of the material must have a high resistance value (value is the opposite of the conductor). In general, air is a good insulator to inhibit heat, provided that the convection process can be suppressed. Most of the material has insulation properties but there are three major types of insulation types, namely:

- Resistive insulation, which inhibits heat flow by relying on resistance values ​​in the conduction process.

- Reflective insulation, is reducing the flow of heat radiation. The ability of the material to absorb or radiate the infra-red depends on the shape and color. The best absorbent is the material in black and the white color is the best of its reflective properties.

- Capasitive insulation, has many useful characteristics if the temperature fluctuations between the two surfaces are very large. So that this type of insulation does not work in steady-state conditions. This method utilizes the delay in the flow of heat stored in the building material (time lag). So that it can move the peak heat flow conditions when needed.

Although insulation can be made by combining several types of building materials, it can be physically divided into 5 types, namely: blankets, blown-in, loose-fill, rigid foam boards, reflective films
